Youth Basketball Official (2008 – 2009)
Achievements
- Learned to function well under pressure. Not only was I under pressure from the coaches and the audience, but I was also pressured to keep the game under control. If I missed too many calls, the game could get out of hand, and the players could be injured.
- Gained valuable leadership skills. Together with my game partner, I was in control for the duration of each game. I was in charge of starting the game, ending the game, and keeping the game safe and enjoyable for all the participants.
- Learned to work as a team. Throughout the game, I communicated with my partner – explaining my calls, conferencing on any problems, and keeping him up-to-date with the score and remaining time.
- Developed a better understanding of basketball rules. I had to instantly recognize what call to make during the game.

We have enjoyed having Nate as a member of our staff this season. Nate is a reliable and mature individual who we feel we can trust to handle challenging scenarios. In the position that Nate held, he is required to manage a fast-paced, intense environment and Nate excelled at managing these scenarios well, along with a high level of integrity. I would not hesitate to recommend Nate for a similar position as he is someone who is trustworthy, competent, and reliable.
